This Monday I was interviewed by the Des Moines Register staff. I sincerely hope to receive their endorsement on our path to the September 8th election. Our campaign continues to gain momentum with new volunteers coming on board. We have ordered campaign materials (yard signs, pamphlets, stickers, etc) and will receive them shortly.

We are now on our way to planning our first campaign rally. Stay posted as we will need all of the volunteers we can get. Also, if you are interested in helping is get out the vote in your neighborhood or want to volunteer in any way please contact the campaign at:

Felipe Gallardo's campaign off to a running start

Shortly after announcing his decision to run for the Des Moines school board Felipe Gallardo's campaign is off to a running start. This past Sunday a core group of volunteers met to hammer out the details of the campaign with the goal of electing Felipe to the school board.

Felipe's life experiences and his passion for youth makes him a great candidate to help steer the direction of the state's largest school district. His service to our country in the military, his service to Des Moines as a community organizer, and his service to youth in various capacities (the latest as a counselor for dropouts over the age of 16) shows his commitment to the betterment of our country. Most importantly, his role as a father to his infant son Ruben is a driving force behind his desire in helping set the course for the school district.

Visit this blog to learn more about Felipe, his platform for success, volunteer opportunities, upcoming events, and how to donate to the campaign. We will chronicle what should be a short but intense race to the September 8th election.
